Drowned Boy, Back To Life Damages
Premises Liability
A 3-year-old boy who slipped to the bottom of a 10-foot swimming pool under the not so watchful eyes of the teachers and lifeguards lay lifeless at the pool’s bottom for almost 4 minutes. The same lifeguards who didn’t see him go under dove in and pulled him to the surface. He was not breathing and his heart was not beating. He was rushed to a hospital, where he remained for several days. Miraculously the boy survived this horror without any evidence of serious brain or other permanent damage. Tests by neuro psychologists who examined the child showed that he was mentally and physically okay after this life threatening ordeal.
Kopfler & Hermann recently settled this personal injury case for more than $117,000.00 at a recent mediation.
